Phoenix Aircraft Leasing Pte Ltd was established in the Republic of Singapore to concentrate and specialise in commercial aircraft leasing, financing, marketing and sales in the Asian region. Phoenix has associated offices in London, Beijing, Jakarta, Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City providing service and information in each of these locations. This enables us to offer a comprehensive service to our aircraft owners, sellers and customers.
Phoenix is a direct descendant of the Templewood Aviation Group, founded 38 years ago in 1967. Tony Griffin, the Managing Director of Phoenix has been actively and continuously involved in the management and shareholding of the group and its succeeding companies since its founding.
The senior executives of the company have extensive experience in the aircraft leasing, financing and sales industries and are supported by engineering, aircraft operations and aviation legal staff from a number of associated specialist organisations in these fields.
The primary activity of the company and its predecessors have always been and remain, the leasing and sales of commercial aircraft within the airline industry worldwide, the remarketing of surplus aircraft for airlines and ACMI operations with a particular specialisation in the Asian region and additionally in Regional Aircraft, both turboprop and jet.
More than 360 aircraft have been leased, purchased and sold by Phoenix and its associated and predecessor companies over the last 38 years.
Customers and suppliers of Phoenix and its predecessor companies have included such carriers as Air France Regional; British Airways; American Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Lufthansa; China Airlines, CAAC, China Eastern; China Southern; Iberia and Saudia among many others. Over the years, we have supplied crews, maintenance and training in addition to the aircraft for our customers and these turn-key ACMI operations have included airlines all over the world, commencing with the first such operation for Union of Burma Airways (now Myanmar Airways) of a Boeing 727 in 1970. These services continue to be provided. Aircraft types involved in these transactions over the last 38 years have included most of the types of all major manufacturers.
Over the last few years the financing and leasing activities of the company have become increasingly complex and we have evolved a range of associations with financing institutions and specialists in Asia and Europe. Individual aircraft leases are structured through wholly owned, special purpose subsidiaries providing total security to each transaction and absolute discretion to our customers. Transactions are covered by confidentiality agreements and our lessee's identities are never revealed without their prior approval.
